Who We Are: We are professional and aspiring professional portrait and general photographers who gather from across eastern Oklahoma for education, fellowship and public service. INPPA is affiliated with the Professional Photographers of America and the Professional Photographers of Oklahoma. Through these and local programs our members further their education and abilities to serve their public and their business.

What We Do: We meet 10 times a year for professional development speakers, once a year for print competition and once a year for a holiday party. Periodically we sponsor extra speakers from across the United States. Several times a year we host fundraising and social events. We offer scholarships to members for the Professional Photographers of Oklahoma Spring Seminar and Fall Convention. We volunteer for community charity efforts as selected by our board of directors.

When We Meet: We meet at the My Photo Studio, 7902 E. 50th street south (Fontana Shopping Center), Tulsa, OK, at 6:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month.

How You Can Join: Membership is open to professional and aspiring photographers, their staff and spouses. Levels of membership and dues vary. Dues are collected each January. Each new member must agree to and sign a code of ethics.

Guest Policy: Guests are welcome to attend one meeting at no charge. After one complimentary meeting, you can either join INPPA for $65 or continue to attend meetings as a non member for a charge of $15 per meeting.

You don’t want to miss this fun, educational, and eye-opening day of lighting and learning!  You may think you know everything about light, but is it second-nature? Do you always have to go through your notes or go through your phone to remember the rules? Cary is going to make it understandable and easy to remember!  In the morning he will start off with “understanding light” and talking about the properties of light.  He will be going over metering light, lighting ratios, and lighting patterns. He will be explaining the necessary five things that must be decided to get perfect shots and exposures in any situation.

In addition, he will be discussing and demonstrating posing to flatter.  Whether your subject is large or small, male or female, individuals or groups, there are unflattering as well as flattering poses. It’s not as hard as you think, but bad posing can totally ruin the image!

We will be grilling hot dogs for lunch so we can stay together for open discussion and conversation!

In the afternoon, Cary will be demonstrating the proper use of natural light, outdoor lighting, and studio lighting.  We will be photographing individuals as well as groups. You will learn how to use different modifiers and reflectors in different ways, for different results. He will show you what to avoid as well as what to look for in “finding” the proper light.

This will be a fun and educational day for any level of photographer!  The entire day will be open for questions and Cary wants to cover anything that you may want to know about lighting or posing!

Bring your camera and your questions!
